The difference in price is just 40€ and I'm wondering if there's a noticeable difference between the two technologies. Should I go for the cheaper edge-lit panel? direct lit is better, edge lit is way more likely to show backlight bleed at the edges.

Edge-lit, direct-lit, and full array are the three main types of backlighting technologies used by TV manufacturers. Edge-lit. Edge-lit backlighting is the most common type of backlight found in modern-day TVs. It uses LED lights placed at the edges of the screen to illuminate the entire display. (Image credit: Fouad A. X850C (KD-55X8005C) is the better TV despite being an edge lit frame dimming panel and you can use DCI or BT2020 advanced color space settings for Triluminos Wide color enhancement on any 4:2:0 content and media below HDR that uses all that outside of the OTA TV tuner bt709 defaults , it's way cool like that if you mind your color saturation below clipping color detail and so on 40-45 color
And compared to the SMPS equivalent, the AC-direct design is much smaller, much simpler, and much easier to assemble, since it requires just a single PCB (see Figure 3). Figure 3: an LED bulb using an AC-direct regulation scheme. Nevertheless, in addition to reduced efficacy, the simple form of AC-direct LED regulation has other drawbacks which LED bulbs are more efficient, have a lower power consumption, and have a long lifespan. They're quite a bit more expensive to purchase, however when you consider that they draw about 8.5 watts of power and cost about $21 per year compared to a 60-watt incandescent light bulb which draws more than $150 worth of electricity per year, they're CgIf.
